I have so many topics on demand (People request for a particular topic in Ebiraland I should write about), which Iresu Anebira (Clans in Ebiraland) is one out of all that is very very popular among all.
So I have been writing and doing research about clans in Ebiraland (Iresu Anebira), and I have been privileged to meet lot of Taaru’s of various Iresu (Clan Kings). With all the notes I have gathered so far, I have to stop the project because of the same reason I stopped writing about Ebira history.
So in this article I will show you why I stopped my projects on the subject of Ebira Histories and Clans, and main reason you should not so much believe anyone that tells you histories.
Top 6 Iresu Anebira (Ebira Clans) I Have Been Able To Do Research About.
- Oz’udu (Pronounced as Ozudu)
- Oz’uka (Ozuka)
- Ozi Ada
- Ozi Otu
- Ozi Ede
- Ozi Ogu
Not long ago a lady from Ihima went viral on social media (Facebook) for singing about, why Ihima people are been discriminated by other parts of Ebiraland and she told the story to favor her own ego. Please I am not saying that there is no element of truth in the song but the elder that told her that story only did it to make her love her mother land, so for this reason alone the truth are been covered from the light.
People Tell History to Favor Their Own Clan or Town
Imagine the very first Taaru I met was not from my clan, so I wasn’t so much welcome at his house. I have to wait for almost 30 minutes before I was attended to, and everything he told me was nothing but pure lies, because he figured I will be publishing this to the public. He wouldn’t stop ranting about how my fore fathers and his fore fathers’ fourth and his fore father won, so I asked, how what he just told me can help the young ones and the development of Ebiraland? And boom I was kicked out.
Nobody Knows The Real Stories.
Most of the historians in Ebiraland are only guessing, and they only write based on what everyone wants to hear and mainly what will sell their hard work (I don’t blame them though). The same story I hear about Ireku Ajinomo (Fulanis/Nupe Jihadist invasion in Ebiraland) and how the Ebira Warriors fought them and chase them beyond boundary, was the same story I heard from another source again that Ebira people never fourth the Fulani/Nupe jihadist but instead they call for peace by hanging a white flag.
Please tell me which one should I believe? Hmm?
Welcome to Ebiraland where most Historians love hypocrisy than their work. They tend to praise some particular ancestors and clan, write in their favor so that they make a lot of money from their book lunching.
Note I said Most of them, not all of them.
History and Clan Issues Has Only Brought More Sufferings than Happiness to Ebiraland
Looking back at where we started in Ebiraland even before the arrival of politics to date the major war, fighting and killings in Ebiraland has been mainly because of Clan and Masquerade all in the name of Histories been told by those that are not worthy of telling them.
Conclusively: I have been able to meet a lot of good people and bad ones during my research across Ebiraland and I really wish to meet more.
I am not giving up on Ebira Topics, No. but I have to stop the History section of Ebira Online Media for peace to reign when you tell a story! One way or the other one person will be happy and the other will not be. I have grown to know Anebiras’ as the unforgiving Aza (People). But I will keep on updating the Ebira Educational sections like Ebira Foods, Language, Traditions and.
